-
Remove any fixtures attached to two or more chains, such as slats, liners, hoppers, etc. (unless there is sufficient spacing between the chains). Then, disconnect the chain at the tension end by removing the outer link or connecting link, as required.
-
Attach a manageable length of new chain to the old chain using the original connecting link (if possible). Ensure that the chain is correctly oriented. Connect the new fixtures to the new chain, or reattach the old fixtures, making sure the chain passes through the center.
-
Use the drive unit to gradually feed the new suspended chain onto the conveyor while allowing the old chain to drop off.
-
Once the new chain has been fed onto the conveyor, connect the next manageable length using a new connecting link. At the same time, disconnect the old chain from the lower strand. Repeat this process until all chains have been replaced.
Once these steps are completed, the new industrial conveyor chains are successfully installed and ready for normal operation.
A final reminder: Do not mix old and new chain sections—it is best to replace the entire chain at once to avoid future complications.
