When the conveyor chain is in operation, the rollers often produce abnormal sounds accompanied by periodic vibrations, especially the return rollers, which are longer, heavier, and noisier. There are two main reasons for this noise:
-
The seamless steel pipe used to manufacture the rollers has uneven wall thickness, resulting in relatively large centrifugal force.
-
During the processing of the conveyor chain, there is a significant deviation between the bearing holes at both ends and the outer circle, leading to excessive centrifugal force.
Solution: If the bearings are not damaged and the noise is tolerable, the bearings can continue to be used.
Noise caused by misalignment of the two shafts of the conveyor chain. Abnormal noise from the coupling between the high-speed end motor of the drive unit and the reducer or the coupling with the brake wheel may also be accompanied by vibrations at the same frequency as the motor's rotation.
Solution: The position of the conveyor chain motor's reducer should be adjusted promptly to prevent the reducer's input shaft from breaking.
Abnormal noise from the reversing roller and drive roller of the conveyor chain. Under normal operation, the reversing roller and drive roller produce very little noise. When abnormal noise occurs, it is usually due to bearing damage, and the bearing housing may emit a clicking sound.
Solution: Replace the bearings.
